Calypso

Lost in Hurricane Rita

When I evacuated for Hurricane Rita, I took my beloved Calypso with me hoping to keep her safe. We stopped on Hwy 59 north about 7 miles south of Livingston, Texas at the Mobil/Exxon gas stations on the east side of the road. We were low on gas, so spent the night there hoping that traffic would be lighter in the morning. When in the process of transferring Calypso to the litter box cage we had set up, she got loose. I haven't seen her since.

I spent the next 6 weekends in that parking lot searching for her in the surrounding woods and neighborhoods to no avail. She was 11 years old at the time, had all her claws and a small pellet lodged just under her skin in her hip area that was never removed.

If you have her, I'm sure you have since fallen madly in love with her as I did. I only ask that you let me know that she was found and has a good home now.  Being able to come visit her would be a big plus.

Have you lost a kitty that you are still looking for? I would be glad to put up a link to your page.
